This work consists of both House of Representative and Senate documents. An important reference source on the natural history of Alaska. This work is not listed in any of the standard reference sources. Ex-library from Holyoke Public Library with gilt call number on the spine and check-out slip on front endpaper - the book was checked out just twice (in 1932 and 1937). First three pages have extensive repairs where paper had become cracked, some soiling and a few old stains to the cloth binding, marginal water marks to the outer top corner of the last few plates, text, maps and plates are bright and clean and unused; overall a good solid copy of a rare work..

Later one-quarter black morocco leather, spine with five raised bands lettered in gilt on red and black author/title labels in three compartments, over the original English marbled boards, lg 4to. This volume consists of a description of the skeletons of the Seals collected on the Challenger expedition to the Kerguelen group of Islands, Heard Island, Messier Channel off the west coast of Patagonia, the Falkland Islands and Juan Fernandez Island. The specimens belong to the genera Macrorhinus, Leptonychotes, Otaria and Arctocephalus. This work also presents a revised classification of the Pinnipedia and a comparison of the brains of the Elephant Seal and Walrus with the brains of the Carnivora. There is also an Appendix at the end on the Myology of the Pinnipedia by W. S. Strettell Miller. No ownership marks.
